Eminent Congress leader, patriot, valiant fighter for
freedom and a brilliant administrator. Was a man of
drive, quick decisions and firm action. Was Minister
for Communications (1947—51) and Food and
Agriculture (1952—54), Government of Tndia.
Handled successfully the difficult food situation in the
country during a crucial period; initiated the night air-
mail service linking the principal cities in Tndia.
